How Sculptra® Works

Sculptra® consists of poly-L-lactic acid; a biocompatible synthetic material used in dissolvable stitches and soft tissue implants. It is not harmful, and over time, the body will break poly-L-lactic acid down. When injected below the surface of the skin in an area of fat loss, Sculptra® provides a gradual increase in volume, by stimulating the body’s natural growth of collagen.
