Before your Silikon 1000 treatment, arrive with clean skin and avoid alcohol, aspirin, NSAIDs, fish oil, vitamin E, and other blood-thinning supplements for at least one week prior to treatment to help reduce bruising risk. Because bruising and swelling can be more noticeable in the lips, patients should plan treatment timing accordingly and discuss any blood-thinning medications with their provider beforehand.
After treatment, temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, or soreness may occur and can last several days or longer depending on the treatment area. Cool compresses and Arnica may help minimize bruising and discomfort. Most patients return to normal activities quickly, though strenuous exercise should be postponed until the following day and makeup should only be applied once the skin feels comfortable.
