Brown Spots

Also known as seborrheic keratosis, there are the most common spots.  They’ve also been termed “age spots” or “wisdom spots”.  Some people have a genetic tendency to develop more brown spots than others.  They are not dangerous, but they can be unsightly.

Solar Lentigines, more commonly referred to as freckles or sun damaged spots, are, you guessed it, caused by excessive sun exposure and sunburn.  These are typically found on the face, chest, and upper back.

Red Spots

Medically referred to as Cherry Angioma, red spots are collectionss of superficial blood vessels.  They show up with age and genetic tendency.  They are not dangerous, but can be very unsightly.

White Spots

White spots, or idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis, are usually found on individuals with fair skin.  The cause is unknown, but they are seen in places on your body that have had excessive sun exposure.
