Denver, Colorado: Great Skin at Every/Any Age

You can’t turn back time or change your past, but you can change your skin. The technology currently available ranges from skincare products which stimulate collagen, hold moisture, and fight the free radicals that cause aging, to laser and radiofrequency medical devices which erase tiny red veins and brown spots, plump collagen, tighten skin, and reduce wrinkles, all with no recovery time.

Prevention starts early in your teens and 20’s with the daily use of sunblock. It is also time to add skin products and microdermabrasion to reduce fine lines and in your 20’s, possibly Botox to prevent the “chiseling “of frown and forehead lines. It is also a time to enhance thin poorly defined or uneven lips with collagen or SiliKon 1000. Acne scars can also be corrected with lasers like the Cooltouch and filled with SiliKon 1000.

The light of the sun causes 90% of your skin’s aging. UVA light breaks down the inner layer of the skin containing the collagen infrastructure. It actually stimulates the destruction of collagen and causes your skin to produce tiny red veins and brown spots, as well.

Because we lose 1% of our collagen every year, age 30 something is the time to combat further loss. This is the time when fine lines around the eyes, called crow’s feet, begin to appear. Fine lines can be treated with exfoliation, or removal of dead skin and stimulation of new growth in the form of prescription products like Retin-A, Renova, Kinerase and TNS recovery system, cosmeceuticals with medical grades of alpha hydroxy acids and copper, and microdermabrasion which mechanically exfoliates and rejuvenates the surface of the skin. Collagen growth can be stimulated with photorejuvenation lasers such as the CoolTouch II. The Thermage or “Thermalift “not only stimulates collagen growth, but also tightens deep layers of collagen and lifts the brows and cheeks.

In the late 30’s and 40’s, damage from the sun becomes more pronounced and in addition to fine lines, tiny red veins and brown spots may start to appear on the surface of the skin. Lasers which target these superficial or epidermal lesions, such as the KTP or Aura laser, are unique in their ability to erase these lesions with very little to “no downtime”. It is at this time that collagen stimulation and growth is extremely important. There are still a lot of cells which will respond and act to produce collagen than are available in the decades ahead. Forty-five is often the turning point when a look in the mirror is a surprise, when one notices the sign s of aging for the first time. Nearly 50% of your collagen has disappeared, and if you have lived at one mile high for five years or more the rate is much faster and signs of aging may appear sooner as the sun is more intense. And you are more likely to be active outdoors all year long. At 40, rejuvenation as well as prevention and protection become a must. Quality medical skin products, laser rejuvenation and restoration of lost collagen, regular microdermabrasion and/ or minipeels keep the skin glowing, plump and fresh appearing.

The great thing about turning 50 is that it is not too late to begin an antiaging skin regimen that gets results and gets noticed by friends. If never used before, Botox can take off 5 years with a quick injection. Collagen and other products are available to fill lines and restore lips. Collagen tightening with the “Thermalift”, stimulation of growth with lasers and erasing superficial sun damage with laser and microdermabrasion are just a few of the non-operative measures.

The quest for beautiful, healthy skin doesn’t end in any decade. Your reflection in the mirror is important to you and to your self-image, no matter how gracefully you accept the aging process. The latest technology to keep your skin healthy and glowing is available at every age. In your 60’s you may or may not have had plastic surgery. At 60 or 70, you are advised that it is not too late to start, nor is it time to stop medical skincare. Even after surgery collagen growth must be stimulated with Thermage, and other forms of dermal rejuvenation. Tiny veins and brown spots continue to appear and you can laser them away. The chiseling of deep lines can be further prevented with Botox. Lips can be kept full and free of fine lines with collagen, Cosmoderm, or SiliKon 1000. Microdermabrasion and medical skincare products keep cells stimulated, turning over and the skin fresh and refined. There is no time to create incredible skin like the present.

There are so many different options on the market when it comes to reducing the visible signs of aging, but nothing quite like Sculptra.

So you may ask, why is Sculptra so different? Or, why is it referred to as the “Liquid Facelift?”

Derived from fruit acids, Sculptra is a biocompatible and biodegradable injectable solution known as poly-L-lactic acid, which naturally stimulates the body to produce it’s own collagen.

Now, if you are among the majority who do not want others to know they have had any “work” done on their face, this is the ideal procedure.

The results are gradual, natural, subtle, and most importantly, safe. We have found that many clients are quite satisfied after just one treatment, but depending on the depth of the wrinkles and sagging, there may be a series of treatments perscribed, lasting approximately 2 years. Compared to other injectable treatments currently available, Sculptra offers the broadest range in treatment. The temples, peri-orbitals, cheeks, nasiolabial folds, marionette lines, and chin are some of the primary areas that become contour deficient over time.

Dr. Parker has often stated that injecting Sculptra is an ” art form,” and who better to do it than a 12 year verteran in the aesthetic industry. With the price of Sculptra at an all time market low, there’s no better time than now for your non-surgical facelift!
